Napoleon Hill’s Instructions for Definite Major Purpose
always aligns to money. I know and I am sure you know that
this now applies to ANY GOAL you may wish to set for
yourself… not just money.
Fix in your mind the exact amount of money
you desire.
Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for
the money you desire.
Establish a definite date when you intend to
possess the money you desire.
Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin
at once whether you are ready or not to put the plan into action.
Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money
you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition,
state what you intend to give in return for the money,
and describe clearly the plan through which you intend
to accumulate it.
Read your statement aloud twice daily, once just before retiring,
and once after arising in the morning. As you read, see feel
and believe yourself already in possession of the money.
Hint: If you only do this once a day – like every night –
it may be only one eighth as powerful as doing it twice.
If you don’t have Napoleon Hill’s book then ask me for a fr-ee copy of it.
Then print it out and start reading and re-reading it on a regular basis.
If you read it 3 times you will never stop.
The words I have underlined were italics in the original version of
Think and Grow Rich.
Sometimes I wonder why it is that people read this book and then
put it back on the shelf. People like myself, who knew of this work of
power for more than 20 years…. before making it work for me.
I mean here are these words of wisdom. Here is an action plan
that works. Here are specific instructions on how to begin,
yet the majority reads this with less attention than one reads
a newspaper and missed the point that
“without a continuous action plan” the words mean nothing.
But first YOU HAVE TO START.
When Napoleon Hill was first given this idea by Andrew Carnegie,
then the richest man in the world (1908) he went home
where he lived with his brother. And began reading his goal
“To present to the world this plan of success” which he knew might
take him 20 years – he did this aloud in front of the mirror each
night and morning. To avoid embarrassment with his brother who
shared the house with him, he whispered his goals. Within 2 weeks
he was speaking them aloud and with confidence because he knew
that Andrew was very smart at picking the right man for the job
and he had picked the young reporter, N H to develop and
give to the world the Law of Success.
By reading aloud his written goals he was giving them
another dimension.
I won’t go into all the psychology of this philosophy here. But I will
go into a little of the “How To” of creating a goal in line with
the 6 steps, remembering that the first of these is to have a definite
purpose, and for the reader Napoleon Hill made that purpose into money.
The underlined bits you have to fill in by yourself. Other than that,
this is just one way to take the 6 Steps and turn them into your
very own goal setting, goal getting action plan.
My Definite Major Purpose.
The 6 Steps that Turn desire Into Gold.
I will have $000,000-00 xxxxx dollars or better by January 1st 0000.
I live and work in xxxxxxxxxxxx and in xxxxxxxxxx. I vacation in
xxxxxxx regularly. My work interests vary and continue to expand.
I build my business interests in xxxx xxxx xxxxx and xxxx: and
build up joint venture connections with various people with whom
I work in friendly co-operation. In addition I develop JV and
affiliate business interests in xxxxxx xxxxxx and xxxxxx.
I am very creative.
These expanding business interests have already commenced and
the $0000,000-00 or better will be mine by January 1st 0000
This plan is an extension of everything I have done in the past.
I work in harmony with my wife and others with whom I share
Master Mind Alliances. I have many friends both in
business and pleasure activities.
My open mind is a magnet for new creative money making ideas.
Opportunities flow to me at all times – regularly and naturally.
One of my principles is that I will give before I get.
I assist anyone who needs help in any way – anytime – anywhere.
I keep these ever expanding goals in my conscious and subconscious
mind as my Definite Major Purpose. All my achievements are
accomplished easily, effortlessly and skilfully.
I accept no defeat as anything but temporary.
I see feel and believe myself to be already in possession of this money.
I sincerely thank the universe for my blessings and to the source of
Universal Power I say: “Thy Will Be Done!”

I will read this statement aloud every night and every morning until
I achieve the success I seek – or more.
Now there are many way you can interpret the 6 Steps. This is simply
how I do it. There is nothing there to make me look or feel ridiculous.
Nothing there I cannot believe. But there is an action plan there that
has and can and will give me everything I want in life…. Providing
I have the persistence to continue with the goal achievement
principles day after day after day.
Now I will reveal to you a small secret that Napoleon Hill did not give.
Or he may have given it by saying that
“one part of his secret was with us all – the second part will be
revealed as we read TAGR.”
It is this. An understanding that if we control our thoughts, and if we
believe that our subconscious minds can be moved to give us what
we desire, and if we develop faith, what we ask for will be delivered
to us, without our asking why.
Let me explain.
If we work for $1000 for a 40 hour week. Our reasoning tells us that
if we work for 80 hours we will get $2000. And that same logical
reasoning will tell us that we can not achieve a goal of earning
$20,000 a week. Our logic – our ego – gets in the way.
But IF we hand our goal over to the universe - say $20,000
a week by xxxxxx date – and kick our logic and ego our of the
way and begin the process of achievement in our own minds
FIRM IN THE BELIEF that the universe will deliver –
then we will achieve whatever it is that we desire.

Newsletter Part 2
Good morning:
I keep a diary, a real big one on my desk. Often I don’t write
much into it. But it’s there. Part of my life! When I open it I
find that the inner cover is marked with a page of A4 paper
that I stuck in there some months ago. It has two headlines.
One says 6 STEPS THAT TURN DESIRE INTO GOLD
and the other one says MY DEFINITE MAJOR PURPOSE.
And of course I can change these at any time. After all they
are mine. In my bedroom I have another page of these goals,
one that I read aloud in front of the mirror every night and
every morning. Just as important to me as having breakfast
and dinner. An essential part of my success strategies.
The difference between myself and others is I have goals.
If you have goals, or if you think you have goals, where
are they written down, and how often do you read them?
These are the two most important questions you will be
asked today. Pause a moment give yourself some
preliminary answers.
I have been asking email customers and phone customers
that I talk to what their goals are, and sadly I get an awful lot
of silence and an awful lot of unspecific goals. Way more
than half of the people I talk to have no specific goals at all.
And to the people who write in and say: “I read Think and
Grow Rich years ago, please send me another copy as I’d
like to read it again…” I say YOU’VE GOT IT WRONG.
It’s not a read it for enjoyment book. And put it back on the
shelf book. It’s a living philosophy and you are the person
who should be living it. You have a right to do this. It’s a
book that contains the best plan of action ever invented
but you have to make it your plan of action and you have
to start working on that Definite Major Purpose all by yourself,
using your own initiative, and create your own plans. And I’ll
go into this shortly.
Hey….. maybe this will be a three part morning letter as I
am getting carried away with my enthusiasm for the subject
of “living philosophy”.
Do you know how I was going to start this letter
last night but didn’t?, then I got up with the intention of
writing something like this; “ If I ever got to appear on my
favourite TV Programme THE EINSTEIN FACTOR,
I would pick as my special subjects either the Stock Exchange
or The Works of Napoleon Hill” That’s how much of an expert
I have become in these subjects which are both passions of mine.
OK back to that diary. On the very first page I have the
principles of Napoleon Hill.
Maybe not word perfect but they are and I refresh my
mind with these occasionally..

these things bit by bit in the coming weeks. Let me give you
one brief example, Faith. What is faith? Ask 100 people and
you’ll get 100 answers including many who have no idea.
But I can tell you now that when you do the 6 Steps That Turn
Desire Into Gold you will discover faith as it will hit you in
the face with the force of a hurricane and suddenly you will
find that you believe in yourself in a way that you never
thought possible before. And it all boils down to the
Definite Major Purpose and the 6 Steps.
First here’s what to do with your copy of Think and Grow Rich.
Read it for fun, for exercise. Enjoy it. Read it again with a
highlighter and mark “words” or “phrases” that you feel have
meaning for you “right now.” As years go by you can mark
other places as each reading will give you new insights into
your own personal success philosophy.
Then, go to the section on Definite Major Purpose and
6 Steps That Turn Desire Into Gold and write down your
plan of action, your desires, what you want to do,
what you want to be, and how you intend to achieve this.
Now if you are not a believer that you have all the attributes to
become exactly the person you wish to be, or even if you do
not believe a word of this philosophy, you must write down
goals that are so big you do not believe them at this stage.
In fact you don’t have to believe them. All you have to do is
have them. You’ve read the book a couple of times and
you have a burning desire to be something more, something
better, a more successful person and you are establishing
personal goals just for you. Look at the words you write
at the top of the page. Definite Major Purpose.

Does that not inspire you? It doesn’t matter how impractical
this seems when you first write them down. The is actually
the most practical philosophy of success you will ever come
across.

Today's Newsletter
Dear Friend,
I’m going to talk about motivation today and I don’t mean
the kind of rah rah rah that footballers go into as their coach
gets them all steamed up for victory before they go out on
the field (although that kind of feeling/emotion is important).
…because I know that the majority of footballers leave their
motivation out on the field… instead of carrying it into every
area of their lives. What I am talking about is the kind of
emotional motivation you need to feel – from the inside –
in your mind, your being, your heart, your soul, to make you have
a burning desire to be successful every single day of your life.
As a 12 year fanatic about trading I have a whole host of
books, tapes, cds programmes etc on my bookshelves – and mostly
all about trading. On other shelves you will find just about as
many books on self help and psychology, Tony Robbins,
Robert Kayosaki, Jay Abraham, Napoleon Hill, Dr Harry
Stanton etc. Not to mention a heap of biographies from
Eva Peron, to Cecil Rhodes, to Aristotle Onassis, Deepak Chopra.
All people who started with nothing and made it huge.
You see I firmly believe that what you become in the future
depends on the books you read and the seminars you go to
and the people you meet.
A couple of years ago I came across Robert Allen’s book
“Multiple Streams of Income” And adopted that as one of
the ways to create a better future for myself. I mean:
It is great to make money from marketing a few programmes
via mail order.
It is exciting to make money regularly from trading indices and
a few shares.
It is exciting to find that a bunch of shares I bought
has gone up 100%.
And it is just more recently I have begun
learning how to create another new stream of income as an
Internet Marketer.
You might ask why a guy of 65 would want to learn and develop
a whole new career… a whole new learning curve to go through…
a whole new “stream of income” workload.
Fact is: developing totally new streams of income gives you
more cash for a better lifestyle. Allows you to help more people
who do not have your initiative.
And when you feel good
you will live longer, be happier, be healthier and have all sort of
fulfilment in your life that you won’t have when you accept
that you have a single narrow stream of income and
“that’s all you’ve got”. And sometimes accept that being old
means being poor, which is simply a degenerate truth from
an older era that has passed but which leaves lingering thoughts
an imprint of yesterday… sometimes from generation to generation.
When I started these few words, my intention was to talk
about Goals and Napoleon Hill. You know I often get people
ring me up or email me about trading and recently I’ve started
asking them: “What are your trading goals?” and
“What are your life goals?”
Sadly the biggest majority do not have ANY.
I mean “not any”.
I saw a lady at the check out of a liquor store
recently buying cartons of beer and her credit card was rejected.
She just shrugged and took out another one that did have credit
on it. That’s crazy. Imagine have all your credit used up and still
buying liquor.
I used to know a guy with 5 great kids. His aim is
just to give them everything. But not wisdom.
They had everything that was the latest fashionista clothes,
most update, most hip whatever the current expression is – cool…
He drives a $55,000 four wheel drive… (paying this depreciating
asset off of course) but alas he is paying rent to live. Had he lost his job
he would have lost everything.
Those people did not have goals.
They do not have any form of financial common sense.
They rely on that weekly pay packet and often spend it before it
comes to them. These people probably do not read too many
self improvement books. They most likely do not go to seminars.
They probably never heard of “Multiple Streams of Income.”
And do not know that everything in our life begins in our
thinking processes and that we live in a bountiful universe
and that we are entitled by our birthright to have our share of that
abundance. And that we have total control of our thinking process
which can give us anything we want. Provided we want it
badly enough and have set the wheels of success moving in our
desired direction.
Tomorrow I will continue this article.
Because it bugs me that people accept defeat as something normal.
Defeat is temporary.
Success is self generating and permanent once you know the
secret of generating it yourself – not once – but every day of your life.
When he was at his most successful Henry Ford said that
if he lost “everything he owned” he would be able to start again
and have everything back within 5 years. AND HE WOULD.
Henry knew the secrets of success. He had earned them.
And one other thing that I will say. Marlon Sanders says
“work” is a filthy four letter word – and I’ll explain that
tomorrow. Because Marlon is getting close to being a
millionaire if not already I understand EXACTLY what he meant.
My hate word is JOB.
I haven’t had one for 40 years. And I don’t want one.
So look forward to tomorrow.

My Special Interests
Several times in my life I have changed direction - and after changing direction - have spent up to 10 or 12 years totally engrossed in a subject - until I became a true expert. A specialist. Some of these areas, in which I still consider myself to be an expert are: Developing Passive Income. Multiple Streams of Income - including passive. Mind Power and Motivation. Customer Service. Derivitive Trading on Shares and Indices. And more recently, Internet Trading.
Today I will take one of many looks at Customer Service. The most inspirational person I ever knew in this was John Hughes, a leading new and used car dealer from Perth, Wesern Australia. John had three sayings that all his staff knew well.
"I stand behind every car I sell."
"What you do for a customer after the sale is worth far more than anything you do to get the sale."
To staff "It's my way or the highway."
I know John's statements were all true. I bought a car from him once. After buying I took it to a mechanic I knew for a check out. The mechanic told me that: "This car has been in an accident.It has been broken in two and expertly put back togeher. I wouldn't buy it if I were you." I took it back and was shown into John's office. No Managing Director's sign on the door, just an office. I explained to John that the car was not as represented and that the mismatched paint under the hood and a few other signs indicated that this car, while roadworthy, was not as presented to me. John said: "Leave the car here. I'll have it looked at and give you a decision tomorrow. When I returned I was told that my claims of a patched up car were true and that this was a condition that the sales staff were not aware of. I could therefore
(a) Have a full refund or use the price paid as a full deposit against any other car that I wished to buy.
(b) Or I could keep the car at a huge discount.
If I decided not to keep it, it would be disposed of, and not sold in the car yard again. It as against John's principles to sell a car disguised as this one was.
Is that great customer service or what? I bought. I was dissatisfied. I got looked after in such a way tha I would willingly have bought from that dealer again and again and again. Why? Great customer service. I was made to felt the dealer was there to give me what I wanted. I was important to him. Now that's customer satisfaction. The result of great customer service.
I'll continue this tomorrow.
Today I will take one of many looks at Customer Service. The most inspirational person I ever knew in this was John Hughes, a leading new and used car dealer from Perth, Wesern Australia. John had three sayings that all his staff knew well.
"I stand behind every car I sell."
"What you do for a customer after the sale is worth far more than anything you do to get the sale."
To staff "It's my way or the highway."

Everyone is an Expert
Everyone is an expert in any way because everyone is unique, no two people are alike as they say. We have our own beliefs, uniqueness, potentials, things you're good at, etc. Whatever line of expertise you are in, I will congratulate you for being you. Just be yourself, do what you're good at and I wish you more power and success!

$100 bounty has been posted to hunt down a cane toad last seen heading towards Darwin. FrogWatch is offering the reward for one of two toads tag with a $150 radio transmitter which have escaped from a scientific toad monitoring project, at Fogg Dam.
FrogWatch North coordinator Graeme Sawyer says the 300g female toad was last seen 6 weeks ago south of Darwin.

Experts
Experts... now we have a subject. Once a day Nida and I watch the news. Now every news story has its own experts. Whether it be tsunami, earthquakes, king tides, crocodiles seen at local beach, or an army truck crashes because a driver fell asleep - and said he was woken by a fast moving tree frog from that fell from the sky as he cruised through the tropical rain forest - and he was so startled his mind wandered and he drove into a train 10 kilometers further on. A likely story and it finished with an opinion by "A leading tree frog expert" saying the story was most likely true as tree frogs are well known to be hypnotic. Tomorrow a hypnotist who is also a frog expert will give his opinion. Note well that the expert was not just a regular frog expert but a highly qualified university educated tree frog one.
My in depth research has shown that the government employs hosts of these experts so that whatever happens, whenever it happens, however it happens, if it actually happens... the government is covered as they are never short of an expert opinion.

April Fool's Day
I never did know where the European Tradition of April Fool's Day came from. Perhaps something medievil or from European gypsies. Maybe someone will tell me someday. Perhaps you'll remember some foolish joke that was played by yourself, on yourself, or by your relations or your friends? I recall one that was played on the English public when TV was new. The serious faced plum-in- the-mouth announcer, with a straight and serious face, announced that the spaghetti harvest from Italy was down this year and a short supply was expected. People should stock up on this valuable food he suggested. The poor crop resulted from heavy mountain frosts followed by high winds and an over supply of rain. And he asked if anyone watching had had problems with their crops? Ha ha... not only did several people ring the station and say their crops were poor but several "spaghetti experts" rang in with their own solutions to the problem... and some rushed the supermarkets to stock up in case of a national shortage....only to look and feel foolish when, a few hours later, the "spaghetti harvest" story was announced as a joke.
One thing one could learn from this is to "Beware of experts. "In fact I think that is an excellent subject for tomorow's small story.
